Down 26lbs so far as of this past Monday. Lifting is still getting to me, even at 3 times a week. I just can't recover fast enough. My damn forearms and traps stay sore. Diet has been ok. Had 3 cheat days/meals since starting. Hand rolls with nori and peanut butter powder are 2 things I've added to my overall diet menu. You can throw all sorts of stuff into a hand roll, take it on the go, and eat anywhere with ease, plus they are quick. Peanut butter powder as a snack replacement for peanut butter seems to be working out and cutting down on overall calories thru each week. Got a bad habit of smashing on peanut butter as a snack, a few tablespoons here and there were adding up quick, lol.
Ever try magnesium for helping muscle healing?

Also ever try foam rolling? Not sure how you can do that in a chair but it always helps me after a good workout.

Time to get out the ol Hitachi then

Ice was helping yesterday a bit, but I have a 1pm meeting today and holy fuck not sure how I'm getting through that drive
I didn't know you were needing that kind of release, thought it was just neck pain. lol j/k j/k Get one of the black percussion massage guns, it's a different type of amplitude and stroke vs a hitachi. Both serve there purpose though.

If my neck pain gets that bad, it's just easier to pop a perc or smoke tiny hits of an indica strain to get thru the day. At least till I can get in for a decent massage and such

The Hitachi is going to have to work for now... I need to shower and get ready for meetings soon. I'll look into an actual massage gun as my husband and I could both benefit with our jobs having one.

Yah I had way too many pills yesterday and those didn't even touch the pain, weed also did nothing:(

Again at a loss for how to fix this when I only have today to figure it out cause I leave tomorrow morning. :crying:

Haven't tried stand alone magnesium but I'm on a decent multivitamin and eat plenty of spinach/peanuts. Might give it a shot. A lot of it is just overusing those muscles with everything I do. I don't have a foam roller but will have someone grind a tennis ball into the areas, definitely helps some.

I just got my husband on magnesium two weeks ago and he feels a difference in them. Just look to figure what magnesium works best for you as there is different formulas of it.. also start slow or you're going to have an upset tummy.

We do this one

There's no telling could be part of some of the immuno issues you've been experiencing, especially if the pain pills and everything else hasn't worked at least short term. Might even be worth getting some occupational therapy to rule out any posture or muscular imbalance type issues, especially if this has been a long term problem.

Yah I have my appointment with the Rheumatoid specialist next week. I'm really hoping he can figure shit out for me cause it's getting soooooo old feeling this way all the time.

I was told by my gyno my muscles inside are tight and my doctor has also told me my sore tummy issues are not organs but rather my abs. I just don't understand how that all relates yet...

I'm not sure I can do a 5hr drive to Vancouver tomorrow feeling this shitty.

What do you fools do for muscle kinks?
Buck wheat pillow, inversion boots, and yoga.

This might sound redundant or something that is already being done, but are you having blood work done to monitor c-reactive protein levels semi regularly? It's not a great tool for making a diagnosis but it is a decent indicator in justifying a heightened state of inflammation being caused by a possible immuno disorder. It won't allow a doctor to figure out what disease/syndrome/etc is causing it but it would provide justification for something being present until a diagnosis can be made.

Well we did a rheumatoid factor test which I tested positive on. So it's a matter of now figuring out why and what is wrong.
I also tested negative for lupus and RA

Nicely done! Still have a double chin here, luckily the goatee camouflages it. But the pack of hotdogs behind my head/neck is gone, lmao.

My update:

Was 295 when I first started the recent weight loss journey, and 315 at peak pandemic weight, but quitting drinking brought me down to 295 despite eating like shit and not exercising at the time.

Just weighed in today at 254.2, so I've lost ~40 lbs since late November. Physically I feel MUCH better - I went from barely being able to walk a mile to running 5, my heart is acting much better now (lower resting HR, lower walking HR, etc). My 5K effort went from ~50 minutes to 37:00, and I've gone from riding a bike 2-4 miles to 20+ at a time.

I mean, mentally I'm still a deranged fuck, but physically I feel a lot better!

A few stats:

Weight trajectory:

Resting HR:

Walking HR:

I'm still hitting it hard! Hit a small lull in the last couple weeks, but still got 5 workouts/week in, just not quite as intense as before, but I felt like I needed a couple easier weeks before I smash it in prep for my summer bod! (any sexy ladies out there into flabby balding guys with loose skin and a five-head?)

Gym for the third time this week, did legs, shoulders and abs today. Usually do abs every workout since they recover quickly. Wearing a shirt today I haven't worn since 2016 and even then it was a touch snug. I got room in it!

49 lb total down since mid December.
How the fuck did you loose 22kg in 3 months, that is amazing

Side effect of Odomzo (for basal cell carcinoma) is altered taste. I've had a nasty bitter taste in my mouth for about 3 months now. Most days I was eating maybe 800 calories a day because everything tastes so bad. At that rate, I lost muscle too. Hence my presence in the gym now.

I did stay active, was out walking 2-3 miles most days. And the taste isn't quite as strong now so a few more foods are palatable. But no idea when I'll finally get normal taste back. Usually takes 5-6 weeks after stopping medication, but now it's been 9 weeks.
