am i seeing this right? 5-7's are no longer law enforcement only?
Never were. Just the AP 5.7 rounds.
FWIW, I talked to a FN rep who's been w/ the company for 25 years. He confirmed that the civie P90 will be out soon. I asked about the barrel, and he said it looked like it had an erection. There's an extended shroud that's blind pinned on to make it legal length. He said they've been getting them to their plant in Columbia, SC and doing the barrel mods and also re-cutting the magwell so they'll accept hi-cap mags. He said with the importation laws, they come into the states to only accept 10 rounders, but they are milling out some part that allows them to accept the 50 rounders. The 100 round mags will be LE restricted.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that for those interested.
thats some badass stuff
Forgot to also say that 5.7 ammo prices should come down in the near future. He told me of a dealer who's importing them and told me the rate of importation, but I forget the numbers. I wanna say it was 50k a month, but I'm not sure. Could have been a week, or the number may have been higher. Anyway, he's one of the major players in distribution. I think I may have to give him a call after I get the rifle...
seems like the perfect range gun, if not for the ammo prices
Wait...I think I made a mistake -- yup, I did:
He said that 50-rounders would be restricted to LE and that it would ship with either one or two 25-rounders.
I said that it was stupid b/c I had a 100-round Beta-C for my AR and it didn't make sense to restrict a 50-rounder.
Yeah, 50-round mags are going for like $300 each already, depending on the buyer.
