VMWare has released a VMWare Viewer as a free download. It lets you run pre-existing VM's (can't create new ones). It will run VMWare VM's, Virtual PC/Virtual Server VM's, and Symantec LiveState Recovery disks. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, so I don't know, for example, if you can "reformat" a VM with the player and a bootable CD/ISO. VMware has sample VM's available for download as well. http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ So if you don't have VMware or VPC, and you don't want to pay for it (or aquire it via less legal means) you can now play in the virtual pool too.
