I posted the Indian wedding there and I got a PM about it being too many pictures in one thread. So, here's my reply...

Not to sound negative, but in 2011, who still has 56k or slower? No other forums but this one limits your number per post... or at least no other one I'm on.

Thanks for splitting it rather than deleting it, but honestly, that's probably the main reason I rarely post pictures in this forum. Not because I don't want to, but I get the se PM every time. Last time, it was the 'add picture heavy' warning to the thread... and now this.

I guess I'll just keep looking around rather than posting.

Hello The Ben,

The thread you started in the Formal Portraiture forum has wonderful images, but unfortunately, it has too many for one thread. The Cafe limits the number of images to no more than 10 to 15 in each thread, except for the Formal Portraiture thread. We tend to allow up to 20 images in this thread; however, the thread you started had 34 images. This is too many images and is not good for our members with slow Internet connections.

Since you stated that you will be posting more threads, I broke the thread up and created a Part II thread with images 18 through 34. I renamed the first thread and included a link to the other thread in each thread.

Please be friendly to our members with slower Internet connections and limit the number of images in each thread.

I get a PM from them every time I post pics. I responded in a similar fashion. I'm guessing their response will be something about server costs & bandwidth. I then responded and asked why I could make multiple posts/threads with 10/each? It was going to cost them the same amount of bandwidth either way....

They threatened to slap me with the ban stick after that.

Bunch of old fuckbags on that forum anyways. I hardly use it anymore. OTAP > *

If anyone is seriously still on a "slower connection," they have no business trying to look at pictures on a forum. Or being on the internet any more for that matter.

I've seen similar rules "suggested" (not anything enforced), but only to limit the number of pictures that people are asking for detailed C&C on. This is ridiculous though. The bandwidth reasoning is completely stupid, especially when it's not the forum that's hosting them.

That forum is a little stuffy. They're a little *too* nice sometimes and the rules they have in place make me laugh. I had a post deleted and got a PM from an admin regarding my want of a Tamron 28-75. I didn't specifically ask anyone if they had one, just mentioned I wanted one after someone posted pics from one.

Oh well, no biggie.
