I'm in the market for a new notebook since my Gateway is due for replacement. I was considering another gateway, but I thought I'd humor the switch to apple... Then I noticed that you can actually get apple notebooks for a decent price! :noes:

Soooo.... Does Apple have any plans to put their G5 chips into a notebook? I'd hate to spend good money on it now if they're making that kind of swap soon.

Otherwise I'm looking at either a 12" or 15" powerbook. 1.25GB RAM. 5400RPM drive. Some other goodies ;)

    Any tips?

it's not likely to happen for a while.

you might also want to look around at the forums on www.macrumors.com

latest i've heard is that G5 books are a ways off, but we may see dual core G4 (two processors in one chip) soon.

macworld is mid january. i'd wait and see what happens then. make sure and check the apple website for the webcast of the event. there's almost always something worth watching it for.

Just wait until the next revision comes out around January. And Tiger for that matter, if you can wait that is.
