All shots taken with the 400mm f/2.8 and D700
badass. I love them all. great job!
nice!! 3 and 8 are my favs
Oh hell ya. These shots are ALL amazing. 400mm 2.8 FTW. Great stuff!
How did you make the 15 happen?
Can I get a print of #15? :x
EDIT: Actually can I get two? My brother would love it!
Sick set as always.
for 15 I imagine you just set the focus in front of the pitcher and then spray and pray right?
Sure, shoot me a PM and we'll work something out.
Yes, pre-focused between pitcher and batter.
I didn't have my grip so I was only shooting at 5fps, so I could only get about 2 shots off after the release before it got to the batter.
It took maybe 2-3 pitches to catch one in focus, really not too bad at all Or maybe I just got lucky
I love #2
Its not really luck. Its just timing. If you can hit a ball, you can click the shutter at the right time.
The whole time I was like "wtf, adam posted his like a year ago and I don't remember everyone going crazy"
People dont like me. Im used to it.
I do REALLY like #2 though.
5's really the only one I like, there seems to be a lack of action, just a bunch of iso shots
When I looked through them the first time, 5 was the one that stuck out to me. But then I looked at it more and it doesnt look like the guy is really hustling too much (which is what would have really made it for me). I actually wish it had more DOF so the guy in the foreground wasnt a total blur. I really love the idea though.
I agree theres not much action but the season is just getting started. Joey's just warming up yo!
The two most exciting things that happened the entire game were the slide into home plate (#8) and the double play slide into 2nd (#12)...
I tried to make the most out of a boring game...
what are "iso shots?"
I didn't really even like 5 at first, but I figured I'd post it up since it was somewhat different.
I don't really care too much for baseball, I doubt I'll shoot all that many more games. We'll see...
It can be hard to get good action shots in baseball if you're using a monopod mounted lens anyway. Shit happens really quickly.
Also, even though at any given time there aren't that many people on such a large field, somebody is guaranteed to step right in front of you. The 1st base coach will suddenly take two steps to the right and the umpire who was standing down the 1st base line will take two steps to the left, thereby doing their best to cock block you from a good shot.
Softball is about a billion times more fun to shoot than baseball.
great shots. i love baseball so hopefully you post some more photos up in the future.
I want that lens, kthx
iso = isolated = baseball card type shit
no idea how to critique sports photos but damn those are solid clean shots
