Going to use it as an all-around computer as I'm going to get rid of my really old laptop. I'm getting a laptop this year and a desktop next year.

I'm thinking of getting this laptop:

    http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/nb_xpsm1210?c=ca&cs=CADHS1&l=en&s=dhs

About $ 1 700 CAD after I customize it with the upgraded battery + 256 mb video card. 12.1" XPS

    or

    http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodd...=20354&PCName=laptop_toshiba&logon=&langid=EN

About $ 1 600 CAD. Can't customize but comes with 15.4" screen, 2 gbs of ram and a 128 MB gfx card. Weighs about 8 lbs though :\ Almost twice as much as the XPS.

Going to mainly use it for work (simple ms office, browsing, photoshop, etc.), but maybe some gaming on the weekends. I might be bringing it to school often so I'm not looking at any 17"s.

Which one should I choose or should I get something in between in terms of size?

    Thanks

Seems to be abit too bulky. I kinda have my eyes set on the XPS right now.

bulky?? hmm dunno bout that. thought it was the same size as the XPS but i dunno. Now the 1705 is bigger than most laptops but it's got a lots of power

if you want streamlined...check out the macs...those things are sweet.

Simply the best bang for the buck laptop is the Inspiron E1505. There is NO arguing that. Bulky? my ass.
