Im buying the ol Glock 26 this weekend, what are some must have accessories? hogue grip? what else?
Carrying it? Night sites maybe?
yeah it will be a carry weapon.
the pierce pinky extender is a must unles you have kid hands
Comp-Tac Holster, Pinky extensions, Sights of your choice, Glock 3.5lbs Trigger Bar, and Glock Extended controls (slide lock, magazine release, if you prefer them). That's it.
Question...why if a finger extension is a must have add on for the 26, why wouldn't you go with the 19 in the first place?
26 with the pinky extension is still smaller than a 19. I still went with a 19 though over a 26. I probably would have been happy with a 26 though.
Shorter slide comes back on target faster, and the +2 is still slighly smaller.
I was thinking the same thing. I carry a G27 with no mag extensions. In a forward cant holster it just makes the front of the grip longer. Might as well carry my G23.
As for must-haves... carry weapon should have nite-sites. Oh, and a decent holster.
No accessories needed. Its a Glock 26. Buy a holster, ammo, and some range time. That's it. Nothing more.
don't buy a hogue grip if it's your carry...the rubber will make your clothes rub onto the handle
Low-light sights are the only modification I would make. I do not like the 26, and owning one with a Pierce extension, I would advise to just get the 19. There is no significant size difference when carrying if you extend the grip or magazine. However, there is a significant difference in comfort when carrying the 19; it is less so, due to where the slide stops. If it were longer, like the 19, it would hit my leg/hip in a better spot when carrying IWB.
The 26 has a shorter sight radius, which makes for less accurate shots. The controls are harder to reach. It is uncomfortable for me to shoot.
