At less then $3 what are the odds of doubling my money if I toss down $1000? Better then 50/50?

Or is hookers and booze a better return on investment.

Depends on if the feds bail them out. Right now you might as well be flushing your money down the crapper.

GM has already stated that the Arlington, Texas truck/SUV plant is on overtime for the rest of the year.

hasn't hit bottom yet, DB set the target price at $0.00

in reality, the fed will bail them out and stipulate they must produce green cars.

    but they won't go away.

If you invest for long term (and I'm assuming you do because you wouldn't be asking a general discussion forum), there is next to zero reason you should be considering GM as an "investment."

I don't think you understand the magnitude of what's going on and how bad not only GM's current financial position is but the fact that experts and the government alike know that any lifeline to GM, be it through an infusion of equity or debt, will only be extending the inevitable.

    You are CLUELESS.

    http://finance.google.com/finance?fstype=bi&q=NYSE:GM

75 billion in short term trade notes, payables, and accrued expenses and a scant 19.7 billion in cash to cover it coupled with a quarter where the GROSS PROFIT was nearly a negative billion dollars. Staggering.

Their cost cutting measures are nothing more than suspending 401k matches, limiting bonuses, limiting discretionary spending, bringing any capital purchases to a near halt, trying to eliminate inventory, and praying to god they can leverage 19 billion in assets, including inventory, into debt financing.

All they're doing is akin to shuffling around the chairs on the decks on the Titanic. Their core issues go WAY far beyond minor cost cutting and liquidity. They are failing in every way imaginable with NO END IN SIGHT. A federal loan cannot reverse three decades of eroding brand image coupled with awful labor management.

You buy it the first day when it is on the Pink Sheet or OTC. Otherwise, BIG FAIL.

I can tell you first hand that they have NOT stopped purchasing capital equipment. They also have not fallen behind on payments and in fact they just changed their payment terms to gone from cutting checks monthly to weekly.
