you talking about in the mail program?
ive got mine running through mail
your username and passwords
i tried using it for a little while when i first got my mac but since i have over 8000 messages in my archive and it wants to put all of them in my inbox it didnt seem to work very well
if you are on the imap server its really nice, i have it setup that way.
in your gmail, you ahve to login, then goto settings in the top right, then there is a tab called forwarding pop/imap, in there you activate it and there is a link to a step by step setup for Mail.app.
pop is pretty crappy, imap works really nicely for me.
If you keep your dock hidden like I do, an nice little menu bar indicator is Mail Unread Menu...
Anyone know if it's possible in Mail to group messages together by conversation like in Microsoft Outlook?
view > organize by thread
pop works perfect for me, what is the difference? what makes imap better?
in for explanation of pop/imap
go to gmail.com and then help and it has a step by step of how to set it up with mail
pop moves the mail to your computer
imap leaves a copy on the server
imap is helpful if you use multiple computers or like to check your mail from the web on other computers
