Ah. Niagara Falls, NY is a dive, but the casino is nice. I'm not sure if Maid of the Mist is still operating. That's usually neat. Bring your passports (you probably already know). The canadian side is nice, albeit touristy.
It looks like rain this weekend. I'd recommend walking in the gorge next to the river if it wasn't. I usually run down there. You can see the remains of the old Schoellkopf plant.
As far as Buffalo: I really love this city, despite the bad rep it seems to have obtained. Elmwood Street is great. Good vibe. Allen Street is also great, and has a few gay bars. Chippewa "strip" is too trendy for me, although I sometimes manage to drag myself there if a friend is spinning. It may be more your scene, I'm not sure. Definitely a lot more club-like places there.
Hm. Not sure. Most nights out in Buffalo are spent aimlessly biking. Midnight rides = win. Buffalo has its own little culture.
Avoid the suburbs.

thanks for the post!
so do you think this is good?
looks like maid of the mist's last day was oct 24th so ill have to do that later
I don't really know because despite living 20 minutes from the falls, I have never done any of the tourist things.
Don't go to the Buffalo one. They haven't finished the new one, so the current one is just a shack (some legal BS made it such that the Senecas had to build a casino by a certain date).
The Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls is nice. If you're in Buffalo, it's a 30 minute drive. Everything in Buffalo is a 30 minute drive.
oye. Should have checked out some of the architecture:
