I'm trying to get my brother a good birthday/Christmas gift. I figured I'd ask the military crew since you guys probably have some idea of what his daily life is like. He spends more time on the ship than not, he's single without kids and his disposable income is quite large in proportion to his needs so he always buys whatever he wants for himself. This makes it just about impossible for me to get him a meaningful gift, since when I ask him what he wants he invariably says, "I dunno". I'd like to get him something useful that he can use or keep on board or at home, but since I don't really understand how things work on the ship I'm at a bit of a loss. I don't want to get him something that will just gather dust on a shelf. He's not on deployment now although I think he's scheduled to deploy in the early half of next year. If anyone can offer gift ideas or insight into what ship life is like, or list some things I should definitely NOT get, I'd appreciate it!
