Is there a way to find out what terms are being used to find a website through google search?

google analytics will tell you what keywords visitors searched for on google prior to visiting your site.

I want to know for sites that aren't mine though.

will give you some idea under their Search Analytics tab

if its your own.. You can do a referrer and pull the query text out.
