The following is not intended to represent an all-inclusive list of job responsibilities, but to outline the ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the position. POSITION TITLE: Service Technician Administrator DEPARTMENT: Operations BASIC FUNCTION: To plan, develop, and implement the practices that will create the solution to problems that may arise relating to the functioning of medical equipment in the hospitals and clinics in all the countries covered under the ROLA (Andean, Caribbean, and Central American) Region. To act with leadership abilities in the development, support, and monitoring of the technical service activities relating to the distributors and direct clients for the region. RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct Clients and Puerto Rico 1. Preventive maintenance (*) 2. Creation and management of service contracts and extended warranties 3. Corrective maintenance (*) 4. Software installations (up-grades) 5. Equipment installation 6. Client care & help desk 7. Technical trainings 8. Set up and pick up of client equipment 9. Equipment management relating to replacements and loaners (*) QAD System Maintenance 1. Equipment evaluation and diagnosis 2. Equipment repair when possible 3. Management and tracking of all equipment sent to the plants for repairs 4. Registering calls and activity tracking in the QAD module 5. Handling quotes 6. Technical service reports 7. Maintenance of the base installed equipment 8. Management of technical service equipment Sales and Distributors Support 1. Support with the demonstrations and trainings 2. Trainings on usage and care of the equipment to end users and technical service personnel 3. Technical support to sales reps and clients with the equipment materials for Communications, Endoscopy, Medical, and Instruments 4. Work directly with the distributors to develop technical service contracts and extended warranties 5. Create monthly reports for the Operations Review regarding: a. Functioning b. Invoicing c. General technical service issues 6. Travel required about 50% of the time QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor Degree (preferred in the Engineering field) - Technical service background: specifically in the analysis and repair of electronic products - Knowledge and preparation of technical service in the medical field greatly preferred - 2-3 years of work related experience - Leadership qualities in order to deal directly with sales reps and distributors - Able to work under minimal supervision - Desire to constantly learn DEFINITIONS: Preventive Maintenance: This service includes the internal and external cleaning of each product, both on the field and in the office. This needs to happen in a consistent manner (Cleaning of the internal components as well as the lubrication of the moving parts.) Within this type of maintenance are the following tasks: - Cleaning of the parts and components of the equipment in order to prevent damaged caused by normal wear and tear and wrong usage - Lubrication of moving parts allowing the right usage of the mechanical parts and avoiding premature wear and tear - Verifying internal cables and outside connections of the equipment to prevent breaks and premature wear and tear - Software up-grades producing better functioning Corrective Maintenance: - This type of maintenance include the above mentioned maintenance in addition to the repair of products in the event of breakage Loaner: This includes the equipment given to the client as a replacement, during the period of time that technical service repairs the damaged equipment. This loan is conditional on the respective purchase order of the repair. For equipment that present damage attributed to manufacturing and/or material, be it within warranty or to clients with maintenance contracts, conditional loaners do not exists.
