04 C5 Z06 - 44k on the clock.
nice, how much did it cost?
Going to lower it on the stock bolts, tint it and powder coat the wheels black for now.
Only has a Vararam intake on it right now, in the future I will probably run the LG G5X3 cam and longtubes with a tune. Aiming for around 425-440 to the wheels.
nice find for a nice price!
Going to sell my WRX that is paid off and put that money on the loan.
Didn't want red originally, but when I saw an 04 going for the same price as the 02's and 03's with similar mileage, I had to jump on it.
i am jealous
Daaamn, that's a good deal for a C5Z.
that's fucking sweet all 'round. sweet car, sweet price, sweet color, sweet car. and for a steal! I bought an 03 back in 06 was 38 and change. WTF me i shoulda waited! Love the Ti exhaust on those things!
Thanks, I'm very happy with the purchase.
good price, I'm thinking of buying one in the near future.
fucking nice, would buy over v6 camaro
I'm still somewhat surprised they sell that high. Awesome buy man.
Raining today, Ill get some more pics tomorrow.
It's the black on black interior. Non of that Mod-Red ugliness.
you can find em for cheaper.
i'd rather spend a little more and get one with lower miles and unmolested than to buy the cheapest one I could find.
Indeed. You can easily find an 01 or 02 for 20k, but I don't mind paying extra for the 04 with 'low' miles.
Popups > projectors
This is pretty much what I will be going for as far as appearance is concerned. I cant tint it that dark in Cali and I don't want it that low, but you get the general idea.
Maybe a 4"x4" C5 Jake decal on the back window corner.
Column lock bypass, shorty antenna and 4qt of Synchromesh are in the mail.
1 to 2 shift grinds a little at high rpm, I'm hoping changing the fluids will help.
i want one of those.
how do you like it compared to your WRX?
It is definitely a different class of car.
Just as easy to drive as the WRX, if not easier. The clutch is lighter and cruising along in 3rd gear in stop an go traffic is a breeze.
My favorite thing about the car is that it actually makes a fairly comfortable 'cruiser' as well. It will just putter along on the freeway going 70 @1800~ rpm and be dead quiet aside from tire roar from the 295's on the back. But downshift and bring it above 3k RPM and it turns into an animal.
The suspension is obviously stiffer than my WRX, but its not unbearable. Steering is tighter overall, but doesn't allow as much feel of the road compared to the WRX. For instance on rough roads, the car as a whole will shuffle around, but you don't feel it through the wheel, just from how the car shifts around in your lane.
But as far as power is concerned, there is no comparison. I have a full catless 3" turbo back, Up-pipe, crank pully and a tune on the WRX and it feels like a fat kid riding a bike uphill compared to the Z.
