If the average lake city 5.56 case is 93 grains, thats 1,849,430 cases. If 1/3rd of it is junk and we sell it for $70/k thats $85k worth of 5.56 brass.
Send me 5k for math services plz.
I think you can forget WMD putting anything together.
Nice. Most of these are mutilation required, dont work out so well for reloaders.
Yeah, that stuff will be bought by raw materials recyclers, mostly.
This one doesn't require a $10k deposit, but it is almost four times as much brass.
what does this mean
Put me down for 100lbs of x51.
Gotta break the stuff before it can be bought
You have to destroy the materials so they cannot be used in their current forms. Pretty much you are buying the goods for scrap material. You usually have to prove the materials were destroyed.
how is the bid only $1,500 for that, that has to be $50,000+ in brass alone
hrmm, 10k is pocket change. is it worth it? let me run the numbers and I'll be back lol
It varies just like any auction.
10k down is one thing, but I figure it will be at least $50k to win the auction. Then 10k lbs of blank .223 which I doubt anyone will want, plus I dont think there are enough people on OT with .50 rifles to divide up over 2k lbs of brass.
I think this auction might be better for a small group buy since there is no $10k deposit and no blank brass: http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=1886474&convertTo=USD
well, if all else failes just sell it for scrap like the blanks. People buy fired brass for 50 cal all the time. talk to some of the guys at the big mg shoots and sell to a dealer cheap and they will reload it. shit cheaper then dirt sells once fired as well, or take an ad out in shotgun news.
I mean shit if you take a full page ad out in shotgun news advertising once fired brass direct from the military and list whats there and recycle the rest thats worthless you could make a good chunk. Ho hazard fees either its just pure weight and you can ship via yellow freight.
biggest problem is, you are going to get fisted in shipping charges
My fiancee's mothers bf drives truck and has his own rig, I throw some money his way for gass and stuff I don't think he'll mind picking it up.
run the numbers and get back to us
honestly i missed this post when i wrote the above post. i thought I was being all witty and shit
If we could make the truck and refine the diesel ourselves we'd be saving even more too!
even shipping 500lb of 50bmg on FedEx Less than Full Load is $700 in shipping alone
