So I inherited a sweet Winchester Model 1890 22 short pump action rifle. The serial is 4xxx, so it was made in 1891 according to the chart I found.
I'm really looking forward to trying it out at the range this week. My grandpa had it for most of his life-- not sure where/when he picked it up or any other history on the gun. The action is smooth and everything appears to be in order with it. We'll see if this box 22short ammo that appears to be from 1975 still works.

Be it the hammer or striker fire version. The striker fire versions are basically Glocks with most of their issues fixed with a fucking factory trigger.

that is a very clean rifle. well done.The NX8 showed up today.
Size comparison with the Vortex 1-6 I had on the gun as a hold over.
The NF weighs 24.6oz in the mount and the Vortex is 31.6oz with the ADM mount.
I'm going to hit the range at some point this weekend and figure out if I want to throw an offset red dot on it.

Pretty sure the guys at my local gun store were wrong and I can't pay for a tax stamp via Silencershop for an eForm 1 SBR, so now I've got a spare tax stamp paid for 
Fuckers gonna make me dump cash into another can at this rate.
I haven't gone all the way through the eForm process for it because I'm waiting on my form 4 to get submitted by Silencershop, and I think tomorrow is when my dealer is going to call me about the certification, at which point I'll fill out the paperwork for the eForm 1 when I get the notification.
Again, for a "premium" process they make this out to be, they suck at conveying instructions/etc. for the popular use cases

I mentioned this before but a heated ultrasonic cleaner is the fuckin best thing for gun parts.
