Was on Faxon's website yesterday just browsing looking at barrels. I was not a registered user and have never given them any personal information ever. Today my wife gets an email from them to her Yahoo account (Don't start. She has her reasons.) with the subject "Looks like you were interested in Faxon Firearms". Email was your typical come on back and buy bla bla. Nothing really sinister but what the fuck? I mean I know how they tracked down her email but still. Given the way the firearms community values its privacy that's pretty fucking stupid for Faxon to do anything like that.

I refuse to accept this as the new normal.

I guess Colorado has an AWB on the table right now as well. Typical feature ban California copy and paste.

There's a few up here right now.

1) Raise legal age to purchase a firearm to 21 years.

2) Allow gun violence victims to sue dealers and manufacturers

3) Ban semi auto rifles and some handguns

The bill defines assault weapons based on features and does not name specific makes and models of firearms. An assault weapon would be defined as a semi-automatic rifle that can accept a detachable magazine and has one or more of the following features:

  • A pistol grip or other feature that could function as a grip for the non-trigger hand.
  • A folding, telescoping, detachable or thumbhole stock that works to make the firearm smaller in order to conceal it.
  • A flash suppressor.
  • A functional grenade launcher.
  • A shroud attached to the barrel.
  • A threaded barrel.
The bill also defines an assault weapon as a semi-automatic pistol with features similar to those described above, semi-automatic rifle that has a fixed large-capacity magazine, a semi-automatic rifle that can accept a belt ammunition feeding device, shotguns with a revolving cylinder or a .50-caliber rifle.

also one to expand red flag laws

Under current law a family or household member and a law enforcement officer or agency can petition for an extreme risk protection order. The bill expands the list of who can petition for an extreme risk protection order to include licensed medical care providers, licensed mental health-care providers, licensed educators, and district attorneys.

it's a bygone relic from old california legislators. they literally went through a "guns of hollywood" style book and said "this looks scary, ban it. this look scary, ban it." etc.

all these AWB's are totally horseshit anyway. according to the FPC the law in CA will be removed "soon" (which i'll believe when i see it), and in a post-Bruin world it's absurd that lawmakers are still trying to copy/paste this dog shit.

knowingly drafting unconstitutional legislation should result in immediate stripping of titles & being barred from office for fucking life.

:werd: but how long will people be fucked

Hopefully not long. The Bruen decision was a landmark ruling. Gets rid of the "balancing interests" argument, puts the burden on the govt to prove gun control legislation is consistent with text, history and tradition dating back to the founding fathers (it isn't), and specifically states that the Second Amendment is not a 2nd class right and needs to be treated the same as other Constitutional rights. I have zero faith in our elected officials doing anything worthwhile, but the courts are stacking up L's for the gun grabbers. It just takes some time to play out. But post Bruen things are actually happening and precedents are being set.
