Firstly do any of you do them? Secondly do you find them easier, or more comfortable?

I tend to do them up to around 180kg, but last night tried them on my 220's and found it a lot easier. Not sure if it's in my mind, walking out with the weight already up. So I know I can hold it up there, etc. So putting it down and then up again is just a formality.

Opinions thoughts on that type of dead?

i think i heard someone talking about "coil strength" where you do one motion, and you can reverse that motion, especially if there is no pause at the bottom (or just a touch off)

i'd imagine it'd be easier just like any other lift where the first rep is a grind from a still position, like DB SHoulder Presses, but the next 3-4 are pretty easy once you get them moving

static/kinetic have to do with friction :mamoru:

there is kinetic energy, but no such thing as static energy

So it's 'cause it's already moving it's easier. So not a benefit?

Though I don't do touch and goes, I try to think I dead the weight and then lift still.

true, part of it is the elastic energy stored in the muscle and part is the kinetic energy from the weights.

Stretch reflex is not my main concern when deadlifting, usually people here can benefit more form lifting heavier and lifting with proper form rather than enhancing their stretch reflex. However, you are more than welcome to discuss this fantastically appealing lifting technique in order to get you those 5 extra ounces on your deadlift.

    in sumary:
its the tiniest piece of a rather large puzzle, wait till the end to put it in place.

Then you post this, I was asking for opinions thoughts ...
So I thought okay no real details or facts, I'll try and get some.

But it seems your last post was some kind of power trip kind of post, when I was simply asking for opinions and merits of that type of exercise.

... we have the metric system here, we don't go down to ounces :fawk:

for RDLs and SLDLS you kinda have to do them from a hang... for conventional deads I just do them off the ground since that's the only way for me to do it with correct form.
