I'm doing a run through on big boss hard right now but can't get past the frog battle during act one!
Still haven't beaten it once.
i am terrible at stealth, i play all the MGS games like im fuckin rambo and just mow through everyone with my rifle/bazookas/machine guns
I'm attempting going through on Big Boss Extreme. I'm halfway through the first act and haven't killed anyone or gotten any alerts. I'm getting impatient though and don't know if I can make it all the way through the game like this.
Not killing people = boring.
Im the opposite. I love stealth and in every MGS I always go through trying to kill the least possible amount of people.
In MGS3 whenever I was spotted I just did that CQC slam that knocked people out on everyone in my path and ran away to hide
Don't get me wrong, I love the stealth aspect as well. But what's the point in having all these badass weapons, if you're not going to use them?
I like sneaking up on people...and THEN killing them.
My biggest problem with 3 and 4 (I don't remember 2 that well) was the fact that they made it a lot harder to sneak. I loved the fact that in 1, you could actually sneak around thanks to the radar/camera/simpler ai/level design.
When I started playing 3 and 4, I didn't even know where to start in order to sneak past everyone.
It definitely is harder to sneak in 3 and 4, but I think it's more realistic that way.
2 it was still pretty simple to sneak around but it was harder than 1.
havent played 3 or 4 so i cant comment.

Empty ammo mags > .
I tried a no-kill run, but killed one person during mission 2 and couldn't be bothered reloading. Got all the dolls, though. Doing no kill no alert, but not on extreme lol.
yeah i did it, you have to save a lot in multiple save slots just incase you fuck up. the trick is to constantly check your stats, i forgot exactly how but you can go back and load up basically any chapters briefing and in the middle of the screen when its all split up is your stats. so basically just check the stats every few scenes and make sure you are still on track with no kills/alerts. i think i accidentally got one kill during the motorcycle chase with Eva so i had to go back and do it.
3 was hard to sneak around, i did the no kills/no alerts in that one as well. i spent a lot of time laying in grass trying to remember patrol patterns lol
I got the big boss emblem within the first week of owning the game
