I've got some people with laptops in the field that I swear never defragment at all. Seriously. I got one guy's computer back for repairs today and the pagefile was in 50000 fragments. No, the zero key did not get stuck. I found a program called PageDefrag that will unfuck the files that the Windows Defragmenter can't touch (like the pagefile and the hibernation file and the registry hives, etc.), but is there anything out there that will just run in the background and defrag one file every 30 seconds or something like that? That would be really handy. Obviously it doesn't matter how many times I tell them to do it once a month, they're never going to, so I'm going to have to steal their MHz whether they like it or not.
