Any bigger (read: fat) guys out there experience joint pain, primarily in the hip area?

I recently started hitting the treadmill and jogging fairly heavily and the following day Ive got some pretty brutal soreness in the my hip joints.

    Any ideas or recommendations fellas?

    Stick to the bike?

take lots of fish oil and maybe some joint shit. i think there is a good thread in the archives about this.

and start lifting weights so when you get skinny you don't look like a homogay

If you're big I wouldn't suggest lots of hard jogging.

Instead of jogging/treadmill, hit up the elliptical. It will take a ton of the stress off your joints.

As others have said take your EFA's and maybe try glucosamine sulphate.

How is the pain if you're on an elliptical, or recumbent bike, or stair climber?

switch to a form of cardio that isn't as hard of an impact on your joints: elliptical, bike

you can burn just as many calories lifting weights as you do from cardio....and your metabolism stays jacked up for awhile....

but lifting is harder then jumping on the elliptical for 30min and since you already took the easy route to no longer being a fatass you probably don't want to do anything that is hard....
