We've had a few people having problems tethering their Cingular phone to a Mac through bluetooth. I figured out the fix for it today so I figured I'd share

Follow these instructions to make a bluetooth connection with your Mac
    http://supportattws.primus.com/aws/knowledgebase/ATTW7257.html

on step 10 and 11 enter the following information
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: CINGULAR1

that should allow you to make a connection.

so this would allow a dial up connection with the phone?

yeah you can use it as an ISP. most people are taking advantage of EDGE (higher speed internet) on their phones. The phone connects to the internet then transfers the internet service to the mac

make sure you have media works plan if you plan to use it as your ISP (not dial up a number)
