give us a iso comparison between your 300 and 700.
I can do it tonight, what would you like to see?
just wanna see the difference between the two sensors at similar iso's in similar circumstances...
and I feel bad for your 300, since it hasn't been touched since you got your 700...
I actually did some Hi2 comparisons of both for myself. Difference is huge considering the Hi2 on the 700 is at 25,600! And I'm still using the 300, it has the 28-70 mounted on it still and the 50 on the 700.
I'll be home late tonight, around 9:30, so I'll set something up and post some pics.
Calculate equivalent focal lengths between the two.
Pick a still object to shoot.
Mount on tripod.
Pick some settings and stick with them.
Shoot from ISO 800-6400 with both, then shoot 128k and 256k with d700.
crop to 100%, create grid in photoshop of labeled images
I don't think the drool monster will sit still for that long, so I'll pick something easier. But that sounds doable. Only 800 to 6400, that's it?
i too would like to see
Sounds interesting. ifl
In for making me go into more debt after I see comparisons.
Also does the viewfinder on the D700 bother you since it doesn't have 100% coverage compared to the D300?
Optical (Pentaprism, 95% coverage, 0.72x magnification) on D700
Optical (Pentaprism, 100% coverage, 0.94x magnification) on D300
fuck, is your D80 shipped yet, shoulda done all 3 for the LULZ
something dim, without flash please.
I'll probably do something in our house. No flash!
Wouldn't even be a competition!
in on this
I feel the need to perform well on this test!
Rockwell did a test of the D300 and D3 when they came out. Its the same sensor
Girth > Rock
Just so you know!
I was thinking about this earlier today. I wanna see how the 300 performs and why we spent nearly twice as much on the 700
This is why you paid more. Look at D3 and D300.
Same ISO. The D300 has about the same noise, but the D3 shows MUCH MUCH more detail because it runs less NR in the end.
