I sat and watched the entire mini-series on DVD yesterday and I must say I was both impressed and appauled. I don't know if the TV movie was historically acurate but I just can't get over the fact that they let Hitler rise to power so easliy. A close friend of mine said "he gave his country something at a time they needed most; pride". I guess it was too late before they realised what evil they had created. Politics and history aside, this was a brilliant acted film, especially on the part of Hitler, played by Robert Carlye (better known for his part in Trainspotting and Monty Python). The settings were very low budget and almost claustrophobic, but I guess for a TV movie you have to make consession for these sort of things (unless it is made by the likes of Steven Spiellberg). I give it 7 out of 10. Now to read up on WWII and see where we went wrong.
