Some guy has sent me several emails asking if I will trade this + $3600 for my M3!!!!!!! Should I??
Of course I am not considering this. Just thought it was funny.
I say get the damn thing. It is ten times more balls to the wall, shit-I-could-really-take-myself-out-here, wild abandon fun than any M3 ever made. That thing is a total toy!
Of course then there's the whole two car thing. And why would Holmes be getting rid of it for your M3? Mileage? I wonder how well those V10s hold up over time...
You're not considering? But it has 40% more cylinders and 40% more displacement. How can you lose on this deal?
Then again, Viper stripes are really played out now, and three-spoke alloys are just so early 90's. I can see why you would have reservations over this deal, even if the guy is offering you money to take it
Even better suggestion, get a new Impreza STi like this here black one:
mm, while i AM a huge m3 fan, that viper has a certain flair. i think in the logn run, though, the m3 will pay off more, with saved gas, service, etc. i DO agree on the STi, though. very nice. redline, are either one of those set up for rallying?
I would at least take it out for a test drive.
It has like 36k miles on it and the owner does admit that although it is a blast to drive, the build quality is poo. He says the workmanship and quality are no better than an Intrepid.
Seriously though, if I was some baller I might consider it or if I thought I could quickly turn it around for a profit, but my car has to fill two functions: fun factor and daily driver. I cannot really afford 2 high end cars right now. In a year, maybe, but now........not a responsible thing for me to do.
Both of the STi's are standard road cars, although the black '03 has been modified by Prodrive to kick out 300bhp and 300lb ft of torque compared to the standard 265bhp.
I drive the blue '02 and my father won the use of the '03 for a week through some trackday he went to back in may. Quite interesting comparing just how many different changes Subaru made for the new model. The smaller steering wheel is much better, if cheap looking, and theres loads more steering feel.
Just look at that interior!
Accaully, that's the new interior. The onld one looks like this:
But still, Trade 'em!
eventhough im a bimmer driver myself....i think that if put in that situation, id heavily consider the vipe
as cool as a 8.0l v10 would be, i would keep the m3 without even a second thought. that said, the vipe would be fun to play around with for an hour or two
I'd take a new Viper over the M3. But no, not that thing.
The first model Vipers sought to emulate the driving experience of the original 1960s Cobra roadster, and it pretty much succeeded.
They are quite a performance machine, but in no way refined, the very antithesis of the M3. That's not a bad thing, they are what they are, the kit car build quality is actually part of the appeal.
The new model Viper addressed all those issues (though it is still a beast to drive), and believe it or not, some Viper fans don't like that.
I'm with BMW1600, I'd still at least take it for a drive.
Umm..... I was serious. He did ask me to trade. He called me again tonight.
Its a dodge, 'nuff said.
RT10? hell no
NOPE!!!! M3 > 2 x RT 10's
Keep the M3
Viper, and that $3600 covers your insurance expense and extra fuel cost over the 3.
