4.0L V8... kinda small... bet it sounds nice, tho. Probably still fwd tho
4.0 is about right for Euro/Jap v8's. It's a shame really, that it will still be dominately FWD, and have less than 200lb-ft of torque.
i highly doubt even honda would be stupid enough to put FWD on a car equipped with a V8. i'd bet any application with that V8 would be awd. yeah, honda just loves FWD drivetrains and they're the best at it. from what i've read, that V8 is touted for the next gen RL and the NSX replacement, if that'll ever happen. both are either AWD or RWD. all honda's current V6's have over 200 lb ft of torque, makes sense that their V8 will have more. who knows? honda coming out with a V8 in their street cars is impressive enough.
the legend is the jdm RL. which is an awd car. they will just drop the small black v8 in it. stfu about fwd
i'd drive that
fear teh front wheel drive
Some Asian countries pay luxury taxes based on displacement hence the small displacement.
Notice the "V8" badge on the red car is taken from a Mercedes.
Caddy has made V8 FWD cars, I don't see why Honda wouldn't too.
HAS being the key word. This car is in the 50k price range. To compete with BMW, Mercedes and lexus you can't have a v8 fwd. Doesn't make sense for that market. AWD is drivetrain that will be used unless its in the NSX.
It would be nice to see this motor in the RL. Even though the RL has a what 330? HP V-6, more power/torque lower in the rpm range is what a V8 gives and is what you want in a luxury car.
Well if you want get technical, the $40-50k Cadillac DTS (whose guts are now shared by the Buick Lucerne) is still being made with no sign of quitting.
Anyway, there is no reason to think Honda would not put SH-AWD on such a car, since it's on the standard RL. The V6 makes 290 hp, so a 350+ hp V8 would put some extra Tabasco in its panties.
damn that shit is fly
