Hey guys. I was released this morning after spending three days in the hospital with pneumothorax in my right lung (partial collapse). It happened when I was riding in my friends Jeep Grand Cherokee and it broke down. We had to get off the highway, as it was blocking traffic, so I pushed it, alone, for a few hundred yards into the Wal Mart parking lot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pneumothorax Symptoms were a dull pain in chest, in the back by by my right should, and being unable to take deep breaths. I thought it was just a pulled muscle, and slept on it. In the morning, it was no better, so I went to the clinic, still thinking it was a muscle thing. They instantly recognized it, took an Xray, and put me in the ambulance to the hospital. They instert a tube in my chest to drain the air out of the cavity where my lung should be, allowing it to reinflate. 3 days later, here I am. I can't work out or do any strenous activity for 4 weeks. Not to mention never being able to scuba dive, smoke, or play the trumpet ever again. Oh well, those activities suck anyway. So be careful guys, the most common patients for this are tall, slim, males, aged 20-40. It can be spontenous or from over-exertion, among other things. Yes, I'm a skinny bitch, thank you for your concern.
