TECH how do i block an autoblog?

I have a WP blog and there is an autoblog that is scraping my content.

Whats the easiest way to put an end to it? Can I just block the servers IP?

Interested in this too. My sister has a similar problem, and I just told her not to worry about it. I included a copyright/link to her blog on the RSS feed, so at least it's obvious where it's coming from.

The same IP hitting you a shitload of times...not coming from a bot.

If you know the blog's url, get the IP from his domain name and scan your logs for it, that's most likely the ip being used if they're a noob. If they're smart they've got a range of IP's they scrape from and it won't be so easy.

One step better, make a nice long paragraph about how they're stealing the content and make it unique enough that you can exact search it in google to get all the offending blogs.

will this affect my rankings much? I haven't found the IP in my logs yet, but i've banned a block of IPs within the same subnet of the server IP.

It will only work if they copy the picture but keep it pointing to the address on your server (which they probably do because they are probably lazy).
