when people bookmark your site?
You need to create a favicon.ico files and upload it to your site's root.
Are you using IE? If so, IE only stores them as a temp file so as soon as you clean your cache the icons disappear again. You need a small program like FavOrg that will store your icons in a seperate folder. I use FavOrg with Maxthon and it works great.
yes, ive done all of this..
http://forum.stevesplaypen.com u should see a red S .. but for half people it doesnt work and some people it does. Its strange.
it would help if there was an icon at http://forum.stevesplaypen.com/favicon.ico
there is, and it works for some people, but not others.. thats the problem.
Here's my question.. how do you get rid of these in Firefox?
I think this is right.
If you go to about:config and set browser.chrome.favicons to false, that should get rid of them. I could be wrong though...
It works for me. Firefox is notoriously flakey about showing them on bookmarks. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I tried it with yours and it didn't work until I clicked the bookmark. Then it showed up.
It's not there for me. If I click on the link all I see is a red X
