"character" = "char" = "care"
Weirdest thing I've said today
Probably char but I don't think I've ever said it outloud. It's not like ASCII or GIF (the last one is loads of fun to throw at geeks for an argument).
pronounce the ch like in chair, arrrr
So you like chairacters?
I've always said "care" because that's how it sounds in character.
but I have been hearing people say "charrr" like as in "char-broiled" or as in "charred"
I was just curious what was more common.
For char, I say "car"... For varchar, I say "var-chair"
i say chaaaaaaar, like a pirate.
char = "chaar" [as in pirate]
varchar = "varchaar" [as in pirate]
gif = "jif" [like the peanut butter, 'g' as in giraffe]
Around here we all just say char, the way it's spelled (chaar I guess)... Never heard it pronounced any other way... I say GIF as it's spelled too, with a hard G.
char as in char-broil
gif as in gift minus t
