Just say, "Thanks!!" and leave it?
Do you usually try to return compliments? Or does that feel fake, like a trade?

I'm thinking just, something a bit more intense. What's the difference between a regular compliment and a strong compliment?

How about "I'm happy to know that," instead of "Thanks?"Do you know what feels fake?
Person: *compliment*
You: "Oh, thanks!"
Person: "No problem"
You:
"no problem" takes ALL the personalization out of it and makes it sound like it was a favor.
I just try to believe that they instinctively said "no problem" as a reflex to hearing "thanks" and didn't actually mean it in the favor way.
Kind of like:
Happy birthday!
You too!![]()
That comment from anyone whom I did not already have a relationship with would creep me out. I would probably say "thanks", and freeze them out by commencing to talk about how much I love my independence..."You are so attractive. It's overwhelming."
Are you female? That comment from anyone whom I did not already have a relationship with would creep me out.
I would probably say "thanks", and give them freeze them out.![]()
Rarely hear a guy talk about being "creeped out." I've never been.No. Why?![]()
It`s a long discussion that might deserve a thread of its own. Maybe I`ll create one in the future.Rarely hear a guy talk about being "creeped out." I've never been.
I'm kinda dealing with this too, the bf is showering me with compliments, and I just had to tell him that I've never had someone say things things about me and I wasn't really sure how to properly react.I didn't want him to think that I didn't really appreciate what he was saying.
