currently use two but i'm starting to think three or four would be better.
2 x 24"
1 for the dell
1 for the sun
just the one on my laptop. I have a couple of people who use dual screens, the guy who does the programming for the power ring, and a couple of graphic designers and web designers.
i have one dell 24" at home and love it!
but at work i think i would rather have 3 or 4 smaller ones.
One. It's an LG Flatron 1780U. It's pretty.
i've been wanting to buy the 2407 for home as well, but am waiting for this 21" fd trinitron to die...
"oops, how did this pitcher of water get back there..."
Used to use dual 19" LCD's. Now I switched to a single 32" HD LCD. Its funny how many comments I get from customers that come up to the engineering department.
Two for my macbook. The laptop monitor displays WindowsXP running via parallels, and the 21" dell displays the regular OS X desktop.
But but but...it gives you that cool Batmobile view, where there's a goddamned pillar smack in the center of your vision!
I have two at home, but only one at work. Maybe when our summer student leaves in September I'll gank his monitor .
I thought about a sceond monitor for awhile, then realized all I wanted it for was to run a movie while I was doing something else. I bought a new TV, put it where the old one sat (behind and to the side a bit if I'm facing my monitor), then mounted a mirror on the wall so that I can see the TV in the reflection.
1 for my machine
1 for the machine im working on
1 19" for my machine
1 17" for the first cluster of servers
1 17" for the second cluster on monitors
2 17" crt's for random machines I am building/servicing
2... one on my lappy, and a shitty 14" lcd to the side. Hoping to one day soon upgrade to something bigger.
I got one 17" tft.
Word. We should start a "single, reasonably-sized LCD owner" crew.
we have some stock traders in boston that use up to nine. they use them in a 3x3 configuration and they kind of arch over their head. certian ones have certian info, the most relevant info is in front of them obviously.
majority of the traders use 3 to 5.
I'm pretty sure the issue there is the need to impress people with how stressful their workload is.
I used to do a 22" hooked to my 17" Macbook, but lately I just use the Macbook's screen.
frontrunning is where the money is at!
Sure, why not. I'll pay them a little extra to take a spear in the chest for me when the revolution happens and civilization crumbles.
