So I'm wondering if maybe I should start doing a little bit of cardio. I fucking hate it, but I was maybe thinking of adding 15mins to the end of my workouts 3x a week.

I get winded fairly easy and it's getting to be pretty annoying so I guess you could say this is my main motivation for wanting to add it in.

However, will 15mins make a huge difference in my bulking efforts? Should I add more time or lower the time?

Also, will adding cardio make any difference in the quality of muscle I put on?

Thanks bro's.

I usually run 1.0 miles at about 9-10 MPH on the treadmill or will do wind sprints for about a mile, two times a week. Being able to run is kinda important in my line of work.

I don't see a problem in doing a little bit of cardio; maybe like 10-15 of a slow jog 3x a week.

I'm thinkin bike or stair master.

I think I might give it a shot, I just don't want it to have too big of a negative effect of my mass gaining.

But I think I remember reading somewhere that doing cardio improves the oxygen in your muscles or improves how oxygen gets there in the first place, which improves the quality of muscle you put on.

I don't really know, I've never given a shit about cardio so I never cared to learn anything about it. :dunno:

I enjoy upping cardio when I'm bulking because I can train harder and have it not assfuck my body so much

i'm not doing anything strenous right now because I'm on caloric deficit. Next bulking cycle I'm going to try to get my mile under 6:30 for the first time in my life

I've noticed that when bulking if I do cardio a bit it not only makes my weight gain stem from more quality mass, but it prevents me from being completely out of shape. I have not done cardio in a few months and I absolutely winded running up 4 flights of stairs the other day

I hate feeling like that. My general rule of thumb is whatever the amount of cardio I do on a cut, I do half of that when bulking. On a bulk I would say I do about 20min of cardio 3 X a week.

It usually consists of sprint/walks on the track or some old football drills. All my cardio used to come from basketball but now that I have changed gyms I don't play nearly as much... Kinda sucks.

where is the option for I don't do cardio ever? :mamoru: fuck I need to do some, failing due to being out of breath before muscular failure is horrible

I run ~12 miles a week, 3 days a week, so like a 4 mile run usually.I used to go on 1 mile runs and I\'d be super winded so it has clearly helped me with oxygen delivery.

It improves heart strength => which improves blood flow => which improves oxygen flow => better turnaround while resting between sets

I love cardio(running specifically) so stopping it was never really an option for me. I just end up eating more than someone who doesn't do any cardio.

Did you see any negative effects to your bulking efforts?
kinda hard to tell, my weight gain is slow as it is now. I feel better overall and not winded after a good set like I used to be

What do you guys consider \"a LOT of cardio\"?I run 8-16 miles (avg. 12) a week and I put that I do some cardio. :hsugh:
