how many do you think that most can do before stopping? 10, 15, 20?
the average male these days is too fat and weak to any
just curious where i stand...i cant do many but i was jw if theres an avg

should be able to bang out between 50-80 in 2mins if you are in avg shape. Pushups are weird though...you can train yourself to do them and still not be in that great of shape. I think my max when I was in the service was like 87 in 2 mins, but that really isn't that impressive. We had guys banging out over 100.... /shrug
Well, this needs a little more narrowing down, like males age 18-30 or something.
With that said, I'd bet that the average male can probably do somewhere between 1-3.
yea 18-30...im not jacked or ripped or anything but i try to stay in shape and i can probably do 25, 30 max...but i dont do them often
Yeah the average male includes 1 year olds, and screw the average- the average person is fat and probably never even do pushups. I say if you can do 40+ you're in decent/good shape.
18-30 age range, the old standards for the Army were 52-82 I think....minimum/maximum to pass 1/3 of the Army fitness test...min may have been lower...been a loooong time hehe. 35 non stop is decent though
You clearly don't know what the word average means.
average OTer = 100
average person in real life = probably like 10
I'd rather just throw two plates on the bench and do a bunch of sets for 12-15reps
when I was in my best shape in boot camp I did 103 in 2 mins, now I can do like 60 I think
I'd say benching is far better than push ups. I can do, probably 30 straight?
There more a condition exercise than a mass building.
There are alot of fat unfit people these days who proberbly couldn't even do one.
The adverage for someone of relatively healthy mass, who doesn't train, would be proberbly 10ish.
pushups are a great way to measure power to weight i guess.
i'd like to know what the general OTFN population can do one arm pushups
Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

In my opinion the pushup standards are way lower than all the other ones. 30 pushups is decent but 15 dips isn't?
2 mins most I did was 74.
they may be, personally i only use pushups as a warmup for chest day , if i ever do them
most ive done in a sitting was 36 give or take. i do weighted push-ups only though.
I've done 75 in 1 1/2 mins. my arms were dead before 2 mins were up
