do you think air assault > airborne?
i'm going to air assault in June
Yes, Air Assault school is harder than Airborne school.
I hear its quite physically challenging. Its a badge you can wear and be proud of.
if you're missing something on the packing list you're gone
Yeah, they don't play around.
And don't fail any of the tests
we had a guy kicked out for having 3/4 of a canteen when he was told full canteens
dont wear contact lens
the mtt at benning kicked out like 4 people on day one for that violation
We have the Lightfighter (Air Assault) school at Drum. Attention to detail is the biggest thing there. Then the mental challenge and then physical. For me anyway. Biggest things are just paying attention and remembering EVERYTHING. The hardest physical thing that I had to do was the final ruck march. I'm short so timed rucks aren't my thing. I ran the whole way and killed my knees in the process. All the tests are timed and they can be tough. Also as far as my experience goes, Air Assault school is way way more useful then Airborne. I've done a shit ton of sling load OPS while deployed. If you've got any more questions about it let me know.
Dot. I just graduated Airborne school. Was pretty easy.
fuck that noise
my buddy claims he got kicked out for not filling in his pistol belt's circles with a sharpie
he's also kind of a shitbag so i think it was something else
11 days of getting smoked...good times.
No, that sounds about right if it occured on zero day or day 1.
All of your equipment that should be black, better be. Just use Sta-Black and it will pass first inspection. If you see a piece of your equipment that is shiny or copper, coat it with sta-black. DO NOT USE A MARKER!!!!
Quick question. I'm in ROTC right now and they have cadets go to some of these schools. I would like to go to one of these schools in the summer and I'm working on increasing my PT scores to be able to go. Out of the 3 schools we can choose to go to (mountain warfare, air assault, airbourne) which one would be the easier one to go to? I know I'll have to go to LTC (Leadership Training Course) first but I want to be able to go to one of the other 3 schools too.
airborne would be easiest
you really wanna go to mountain warfare school
Gotcha I guess airborne it is. I'm trying to improve my pt score as much as I can to get in and I really want to take part in one of these schools. (Mostly to get bragging rights)
i'd say airborne
Yea Airborne is the easiest. You should really got to MTN Warfare if you have a chance. That is a very very hard school to get a slot for.
Yeah but I got a feeling I don't have a chance. I have a 236 PT score right now and I'm trying to get it to a 275. I already the few guys that go 300+ are trying to go for it
I've never been to MTN Warfare school but the guys I know that did said it was an awesome school and pretty tough as well. Running is big at Airborne and all around endurance and rucking is big at Air Assault.
i heard there are a lot of academic shit in air assault.
is there like an online version field manual for air assault so i can look over before hand?
Yea bro, I got you.
