CAR How's the Nissan Frontier?

Looking for a truck. Frontier is severely outdated, I know. But it's proven to be bulletproof according to owners. Ruled out the Tacoma for now because it's more expensive in general. Besides, I've been hearing the current gen has transmission issues. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to getting a clean, previous gen Taco. This would be my second vehicle.

I know this as well. But I'm cautious about being an early adopter of newly redesigned vehicles because of the kinks they undoubtedly will have. That's why I prefer the outgoing models.

Never really had an issue with nissan before a colleague brought me a 2010ish one to work on. I was surprised with how flimsy everything in the suspension seemed. I'm used to the overbuilt Toyotas though.

What exactly do you mean by "flimsy". I haven't heard any horror stories about the more recent Frontiers.

I had one in 2007. It was pretty good then.

It's a big sad that it's the same thing in 2020 though.

I had one until pretty recently. It was always reliable. I had a 4x4. I'd still have it, but we outgrew it.

That being said: it's dated. Interior build quality isn't great, the technology in the dash isn't great, etc.

If you just need a little truck, it's not a bad buy.

Keep in mind the 2020 Frontier still looks like the old one but has a brand new drivetrain in it, a one year only deal. I would stay the fuck away from them.
