sounds liek a good idea. i'm trying to decide between the two for when I start bulking agin (probbaly in June/July)
I've tried max-OT before. The low reps per set really didn't do much for me. I'm sure it works great for plenty of people.
Started off at 6'2, 135 the fall before last (2003), lifted but didn't eat, then finally realized eating was what counted.. Within about 5 months I went to 6'2 170 at my peak, then recently got sick with mono and am at 155 now. As soon as my ridiculously bloated spleen shrinks down a bit, I'm going to try HST.. If HST isn't doing the trick after a while, it's gonna be christophers routine, or my own (pretty much max-OT with more volume).
How can you say it didn't work then?

i know there are way to many variables too this, but i think the competition might inspire people to work harder

nobody ever really joined a pl gym and competed.
I didn't think it was *terrible*
Just not enough work for each muscle group, I didn't think. Still saw some decent gains.
3 cycles of hst and you guys have to pick prime cutting season to start a bulking contest???
