stereo wars ftw.
We saw puppies on tonight's mission.
And on a stereo wars note - I forgot that I had my tunes blasting when I left for mission prep. I just got back and saw that somebody had come into my room and turned my stereo down.
can't hear the incoming alarm over the stereo
We get mortared a lot, but it rarely hits close to my area of the FOB. Yesterday we got several rounds fairly close. My roommate said "the air raid alarm is on!" (He's from the Dominican Republic, and barely has a grasp on english, much less what terms to use when.) I told him there's nothing I can do about it, and continued cleaning my weapon next to my bunk.
30 minutes later as I'm lugging my pack and stuff to the mission staging area, I find out that they locked everyone that was in the chow hall inside. We had guys that were due to go out on mission with us having to sneak out of the chow hall just to get ready for the mission.
The fobbits at Battalion all ran outside and huddled in the bunker. Everyone was walking past them looking at them like they were from mars or something.
they hit the deck for controlled dets here.
yesterday was nuts mang, my whole chain of command was all like OMGWTFGET TO THE BUNKER
They always think someone is bombing the base and there's a big shitstorm about it. I was like "Gentlemen, I can see it with my own eyes it's controlled det."
"bullshit that was way too close"
"uhhh okay i'm on the outside, you're on the inside, but since you outrank me by 11tymillion ranks you win.... the base is being bombed"
what is even better is when the howitzers fire and the kbr poeple and the fobbis run to the bunkers or ask if it is incoming....
our paladins shot a few rounds out a month back and my entire pad went apeshit over it
I can only take about 8 inches of McBride. But I would take those 8 inches and make them mine. Over and over and over.
And if you had any idea of how mindnumbingly slow my email is, you would step back off my nuts.
