Which one are you?
I am a career military member, but found out today that I need another shoulder surgery. Surgery is scheduled for Jan 26th. Career hinges on that.
I'm the 4th one. I don't know if i'm going to make the Marine Corps a career or not and I probably won't know until i'm actually in and can decide if I want to do it for 20 years.
If I get the pilot slot im praying for I'll be in for at least 10.
career, unless I'm RIF'd as part of 'force shaping' or I'm passed over for promotion and forced to get out.
Sad thing, I could make 2x+ more money as a civilian, my father-in-law is a big wig exec
10 AFTER training. EST 1 yr casual status, 1-1.5 yr SUPT, + 10 year commitment, you'de be looking at 12+ years.
What about people in the middle ground? Not a lifer but more than one term?
i'll make the decision in 5 years when my service commitment is up. i plan to do some job searching, but i wouldn't be surprised if i just re-up for 6 more, in which case i would definitely go career.
oh fuck. damn. good luck, brack. I know warrant was your wet dream about to come true. :hugot:
Combat Control is/was my dream. Be a flying Warrant was plan B due to my first shoulder surgery.
either way, good luck dude.
