Basically I want to use it for shots that I can't use another camera for (weight, durability, and some functionality)

But my main concern is no viewfinder to frame up your shots with

Doesn't need to be exact, but is it fairly easy to work out where your frame is?

Thats the only reason (so far) that I can think of for wanting the LCD backpack, but its not really a cheap accessory considering thats really all I want it for

This won't push you over the line to buy one. But gives me a chance to post 2 vids I took when I borrowed one. I loved it. Made the trip more "fun" when you could document it like that.

btw, iMovie was a terrible way for me to process these. It took some good, clear footage and muddled it up w/compression.

What I find impressive is how well go-pro vid can be integrated with other sources of HD video without the switch being too painfully obvious.
