Completely false. We can own AR-15 style rifles just fine. As long as it isn't on our banned receiver list. Also if it is centerfire, it must be shipped either disassembled, or assembled with a magazine lock, with a magazine no greater than 10 rounds. Same with any other "Assualt rifle".

U-15. Totally unnecessary, since you can either use a MonsterMan or a Bullet Button (depending on your preferences) and be just as legal.
