The accident didn't involve weight lifting obviously, but the doc said I shouldn't seriously touch any weights for at least 6 months. The reason I say Ill have to use straps is just because my hand is retarded now. I've had my half cast off for about a week now and PT is going great, but I wont ever get my grip back just because some of those muscles were severed when the bone punched through. The muscles are sutured together still, but my therapist said there's always a chance it won't fully heal. And it doesn't really pertain to lifting, but I can't independently extend my middle finger. It'll suck being away from the gym that long. Luckily muscles are one of the few cells that can regenerate after being completely severed. (That's how we build muscle in the first place. =) But still, after 6 months of atrophy I imagine my right hand's grip will be too far behind my where my deadlifts are to lift w/o straps. Without further ado... 2 titanium plates, 13 screws. My forearms have always been a little skinny, but it's noticably atrophied from being in the hospital and the cast. This is where the longer break stuck through, the other one came on the other side but it's still covered in tape so you can't see anything anyways.
