So a few days back my computer started acting up. No new software installs, no new hardware, nothing. The only thing it seemed to coincide with was a switch from 10mb cable broadband to a 20mb service, although I doubt that did anything. More or less, it takes longer to do basically everything, from start up to transfer files between hard drives to load programs. It'll get hung up on stuff, to the point of 'skipping' on any sound playing, from Windows startup to a steaming video file to a video or mp3 file on the HDD. Right now, transferring some old Top Gears from my C to my D drive is hindering the system to the point that it can't play youtube clips smoothly. CPU usage is sitting between 35 and 60% most of the time now, with spikes up to 100% not being uncommon whenever something's being opened. I've ran avast 3 times and found essentially nothing (an exploit for java on the first pass, but nothing since), adaware and everything else i can think of. Nothing is overclocked, nothing is changed from it's 'stock' setting on the hardware. Partial System specs from an old thread on here.
