it looks like this thing (pretty much exactly like this thing)

which means I get to go buy some books :run:

for those of you not familiar with this amazing place, it's a full city block of books, new and used, and since in Oregon, no sales tax, and their shelves are huge (just a glimpse at the corner of one room)

    the floor plan...

They even have a section just for Nautical Fiction :nikko: and their scifi/fantasy/horror section is as big as some regular bookstores

Santa says there is more things coming :coold: but I dunno who santa is because I have a name, but not a screen name :squint:

yeah, I know, some will say "gift card, really?" but this will supply me with hours of enjoyable treasure hunting

and I don't go here very often, even though I don't work very far from it, because it's really hard to go in and set limits :o

What do they have in there? Just books, or is it like one of those Massive everything media stores?

it's mostly books, they have a few small places around the store (like at the end of isles) that has gift type stuff (socks, games, coffee mugs, etc)

and that's just the main store, across the street is their technical books store, and then across the river they have a store that specifically home and garden stuff

Powell’s City of Books is the largest used and new bookstore in the world, occupying an entire city block and housing approximately one million books. Located in downtown Portland’s Pearl District, the City of Books has nine color-coded rooms and over 3,500 different sections, offering something for every interest, including an incredible selection of out-of-print and hard-to-find titles. Dozens of acclaimed writers, artists, and thinkers visit each month to read in the Basil Hallward Gallery (located upstairs in the Pearl Room). A one-of-a-kind Rare Book Room draws bibliophiles from near and far to browse an impressive collection of autographed first editions and other collectible volumes. And our Espresso Book Machine provides instant access to hard-to-find titles and gives anyone the power to publish a book.

I tried to get a pic of my cat being unsure of my new slippers, but none of the pics turned out. However, dummy dog came back home today (he'd been staying with his grandpa while momma was away at a wedding) and got his moose (or is it a reindeer?) just a few minutes ago.

No, I don't typically have a mattress in my living room, but one of the roommate's has a friend staying over for a few days.

I never got a pic with the cats and their interesting reactions to the slippers. So instead, you get a pic of them and the dog.
