    My stats- I'm 20 yrs old, 5'8 and 160lbs. Bf ~22% (haven't checked recently but I haven't really gained/lost anything since)

According to the freedieting.com calorie calc., I should be consuming ~1800 calories (normal fatloss, maint. at ~2300 cal.) I've been tracking my intake via fitday.com

I'm thinking about cutting ~250 cals, aiming for 1550-1600 daily. I want to start seeing results :hsd:

I've been hitting the gym for a good month-month and half now, 3-4 times a week doing the typical major body parts that some of my friends were doing. Monday- Tri's/chest, Weds- Back/shoulders etc or whatever. I think I'm going to start doing the 5x5 program. I'm just getting back into working out since it's been nearly 2 years.

I started hitting the gym with a hard cardio workout but then lifting was half assed, so now I bust my ass lifting and now my 30-45 mins of low intensity cardio is the worst thing ever. I'm going to be lifting in the morning then cardio in the evening (or vice versa depending on my schedule)

No suppliments really besides a daily vitamin and fish oil with each meal.

Foods I typically eat in a day-

    Morning breakfast-

1/2 cup 100% whole wheat oats
    Medium Banana
    1/2 cup skim milk
    ice
    + Blender = :yum:

    260-300 calories (according to fitday)

Sometimes I'll throw some blueberries, almonds, strawberries etc. in there if I have some.

Go to class and gym come back for lunch-

    1 whole egg + 2-3 egg whites
    1 cup diced chicken breast
Maybe some onions, green pepper, garlic, whatever I can find.
Cooked however I feel that day. :o

    360-400 cals

Then it's sorta random, some tuna, an apple or grapefruit, something to make another 2-300 calorie meal.

For dinner I try to aim for meat or fish + lots of vegtables. Each meal is also occupied by a nice tall glass of water.

I haven't been too faithful to eating clean, sometimes I'll sneak in a bowl of my fav cereal with skim a few hours before I hit the sack or something.

I really have a hard time going to bed if I'm just craving food like right now. Would an appeitite surpressent or something be any good or just some queer shit?

So I think that covers it all.

    Cliffs: :o

And is it true I shouldn't eat anything 4 hours before I go to bed?

I've never bought that shit about not eating before bed, I can't see how your body knows the difference between 8am and 8pm. However, I have read that consuming simple carbohydrates before bed can interfere with natural growth hormone release that happens during sleep (because of the large insulin spike). Maybe someone else can clarify that for you. Cottage cheese before bed couldn't hurt, it's full of casein protein which takes a lot longer to digest than whey or soy and provides your body with protein throughout the night.

And on another note... 260 calories for breakfast? My breakfast is usually:

    4 egg whites
    2 whole eggs

and the following into a blender:

    1 cup skim milk
    1 cup oats
    1 cup plain yogurt
    2 scoops whey
    large banana

    ~1100 calories

    drink more water.

buy a gallon jug at the grocery store and kill at least that gallon every day. you'll piss like a dog every 5-10 minutes but it helps

A month month and a half isn't that long. Keep at it. Are you seeing results in strength and size? I'm no expert like some of the guys on here, but i would think after that long of a lay-off coming back at it you'd probably gain size and weight even if you were losing bf. Noob gains are the best. other than that, don't be another sucker who gave up after 2 months b/c you didn't get instant gratification, being healthy and in shape is a lifestyle, not a hobby, not a seasonal activity.
