Got last week:
Relpacing the stock, barrel, optic pictured here:
what are you gonna do with the barrel thats on it right now?
fuck now i want a 597LS Magnum
anyone have one for sale?
One of my buddies from work is interested in it. I'll give you guys here first shot at it though if he ends up not buying it.
I also used some of my leftover Alumahyde from my 700 project to repaint my receiver black.
what about the stock?
If my buddy buys the barrel he'll buy the stock too. If he doesn't buy the barrel I'll offer the stock with the barrel on here.
It's not threaded. The optic found its way onto my 22/45. It should be a really fun plinker with the optic on it. I'm thinking about picking up one of the TacSol uppers for the 22/45.
Looks pretty tight man
Thanks. It should be. I'm actually really excited about the scope. A number of guys on SH recommended it. $80 and it's adjustable from 6-24x and has adjustable parallax and a mildot reticle that'll definitely help with holdovers needed with a .22 at longer ranges. The 15MOA base would likely allow me to zero the scope out pretty far, but holdovers are was easier when plinking at various ranges.
It's actually a Tasco.
Part number VAR624X42M
I got it from SWFA. http://swfa.com/Tasco-6-24x42-Target-Varmint-Riflescope-P4505.aspx
I need a cheapy 3-9x40 scope. The 8-32x50 scope I have is too big, and eye relief sucks.
I've never done a damn thing with mine.
They have a 2.5-10x42 version of the one I bought.
Some reviews of it here at Optics Planet:
They're so fun. It's like a cheap to build and cheap to shoot AR. You can customize them any way you want.
Motherfucker fell over and tore out the top rail from the receiver.
Temporary fix = Epoxy
Another reason why I want a smaller scope
can the 597LS be customized too? im really interested in 17 HMR
That's kind of a grody gun. Why do you want one?
They've discontinued the .17HMR 597s.
According to Remington, they aren't very safe.
So you decided to go with the kidd? Lightweight or normal?
Bro.... I would have sold some glass if I knew you needed some. I'm redoing my 10/22 too.
what other semi autos are there in that?
It's the normal one. I really didn't want to spend the extra money on the lightweight one, and really it's not much different in construction than the barrel I have now. It's a steel barrel with an aluminum sleeve on it. The steel part on the Kidd barrel might be thicker or whatever, but I didn't want to risk it not shooting much better than what I have now. Anyways, I went with the 16.5" Kidd match barrel, so it shouldn't really be that heavy.
I didn't even think to ask you about if you had any extra glass.
What are you doing to your 10/22?
Not very many now that they've decided .17 HMR is dangerous in semi-auto guns.
How are you liking that Bell and Carlson stock? I was thinking about getting that exact one.
I must remember to investigate said scope tomorrow
