court photo pass to a UNC vs GT basketball game (at UNC)
time to rent a 200 f/2
do you get to ride the school bus?
for the players safety, please don't use any metal or solid lens hoods if you are going to be shooting courtside
if it's your first time shooting basketball from the floor, the 200mm f/2.0 sounds like a good idea but will be rather difficult to use
28-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 are going to be more flexible
I've been shooting Georgia Tech games all season. I've got a pretty good idea what I'm doing by now
Thanks for the concern
Probably going to rent a D3 and 200/2 and the use my D700 and 85 1.8
I'm also debating a 400/2.8 to shoot the far end rather than the 200/2.
just rent use of the speedos
400 for basketball isn't going to be fun
Im personally at a loss as to why you would pick a 200/2 and an 85/1.8 for something like this...
Id say use your 70-200 on the D700 and then rent a D3 and 200-400 if youre serious.
200-400mm f/4 indoors with a D3 is an interesting one
but theriously, try to borrow/rent the speedos at the arena
are you going to ride the GT school bus to chapel hill?
I know people that have done it and loved it. Whats interesting about it?
interesting is the flexibility and range of 200-400 which would normally be a problem indoors due to the max aperture size.. but the d3 has no real issue with that
but would still recommend hooking up the speedos as the best learning, and most satisfying opportunity
I figured that just from past experiences you were mocking me. My bad.
congrats. just remember to focus on the boys in blue. they'll be the ones scoring the points!
Oh, and if you visit a certain famous restaruant in CH, you'll run into one of my daughters.
oh yeah, white home jerseys are ftl
i say this because learning how to do things w/o motor-drives will benefit you greatly if you want to improve
So which is it?
first learn how to shoot without a motor drive
then learn to shoot with one and appreciate its advantages
by skipping the first step, you will get sloppy and lazy
walk before you run
D3 + 400 is amazing for downcourt.
70-200 and a 300 on a 1.3 crop is my fav combo.
use a P&S
Very Good luck Bro!
