i know you can't gain muscle and lose fat at the same time

    but what about beginner gains: can you take advantage in that time period?

    basically, if you have a diet that's making you lose fat, but you lift as a n00b, will you get muscle gains just from beginner stress regardless of calorie intake

    As a total n00b if your diet is dialed in and you bust ass you can add LBM while dropping fat. As you get further along it gets harder to do although some bro-science suggests that 10+g of Leucine during lifting helps.

    Supposedly Body ReComp diets will allow even more advanced lifters to do this but I've never tried one. Probably this bulking season I'll run a thorough and hardcore body ReComp diet.

    I woudln't doubt it.

    I don't have much faith in any supplements besides whey and creatine.

    so, about that gaining muscle losing fat. i'm doing this right now, only because i'm re-visiting beginner gains because i took such a long break from dedicated lifting.

    for some reason though, I have been stuck at 160 lbs for about 2-3 weeks. fucking sucks.

    It's different with muscle memory.

    When I took 2.5 months off from the gym and ate like trash my first month back I was leaning up and adding LBM... it was awesome. But that came to an abrupt halt once I was back to my original levels.
