Me: Hey, are you Sgt Rigly?
Him: Thats Staff Sgt Rigly.
Me: Ok, Sgt Rigly.
okay, piece of shit
in da army of one yo, they don't give a fuck if you're first sergeant or sgt. it's all the same to them.
same in the Air Force. Unless you're a CMSgt, and then it's just "Chief".
They just want to be different.
first sgt and above get their special names.
I won't even stand at parade rest for anyone below an e-7 unless they're chewing me out, teaching me, or I'm at a board.
I saw some Army SPC call my MGySgt a Sgt yesterday.
He was like Master GUNS!
Me: My bad, gunny
It all boils down to respect for the rank, we have it you don't.
well for the orginal thread topic. I don't think it was a respect issue. We just call everyone "Sargnt" in the Army cept for 1ST aka top, and SM/CSM as SGT Major.
Even when the marine tried to correct him in the army a staff is still called SGT.
how is it not respect.. we arent taught to do that
i call my first seargent , shirt
hes the first shirt.....
e9 is chief e5-e8 is seargent..
not going to walk around saying yes tech seagent, yes senoir master seargent
hell sometimes we jus tsay senoir said to do this.. ok well do it
Thats bullshit. It has nothing to do with respect. I'm not going to roll around calling my NCOs and officers their full entire rank when I'm not expected or required to.
This dude is on an Army post. He is a guest of the US Army. He doesn't like it when I don't choke out his entire rank, thats his problem.
Call him Snuggle Seargent.
"You're just a big old grumpy baby, aren't you? Aren't you?"
this thread is really disgusting
because they're all an army of one!!
your a one trick pony
i guess we should all join the corps and slay big monsters while going through an obstacle course of lava
it's still okay if you can't
That's just nasty. It's things like this which make me glad i'm joining the Marine Corps.
*waits for someone to tell me to ship out already *
go to boot camp already
in the Navy I just call anyone E4-E6 AE2 or AM1, rate dependent of course, or Petty Officer if I'm in a good mood E7's are 'Chief', E8's are 'Senior', and E9 gets the full Master Chief title.
disgusting? Care to explain yourself?
Ok, retard, calling a captain a colonel is completely different than calling a master gunnery what the fuck ever, a sergeant. In the Army, you're a sgt until you hit E-8 1sg. Don't know how it works in the marines, but I personally don't give a fuck. Marines consist of the most arrogant dumbasses out of any branch.
No, because thats not his rank. A staff sergeant in the army is still a sergeant. Same as marine sergeants.
